Creating the BIM Execution Plan

In addition to mapping the BIM Execution processes, many other elements should be planned and documented for project execution. The following information should be documented in the BIM Execution Plan:

1. Project Reference Information
2. Goals and Objectives for BIM Implementation
3. BIM Process Design
4. Delivery Strategy and Contracting
5. BIM Scope Definitions
6. Organizational Roles and Responsibilities
7. Communication Procedures
8. Technology Infrastructure to Support BIM
9. Model Quality Control Procedures

These items should be documented early in the project, and then reviewed and modified periodically to ensure that it is an accurate plan for all team members to follow.
